Give brand managers and agencies a +1 number to call, and receive sign-in codes for your social and payout accounts on it.
Short answer
Creators outside the US use a US virtual number so American brands and agencies can call a familiar +1 number, and to receive sign-in codes for social and payout accounts. The TripoSIM number rings in an app, takes voicemail and includes 300 minutes a month of calls to the US and Canada. It receives texts but cannot send them.
Why give US brands a US number to call?
Most brand deals start in email or direct messages. Then a brand manager or an agency wants a quick call about the brief, the deliverables or a new posting date. If the number in your media kit is international, some of them will write again instead of calling, and the deal slows down. A +1 number makes that call an ordinary one for them.
The TripoSIM US Virtual Number runs in an app on your phone over Wi-Fi or mobile data, so it works the same from Lagos, Lisbon or Jakarta. Calls ring like a normal call. When you are filming, editing or asleep, callers leave a voicemail.
Where should the number appear?
Media kit and rate card: the number as +1 and ten digits, with your call hours in Eastern or Pacific time.
Email signature and invoices: the same number, so a brand's accounts team knows which one to use.
The business section of your link-in-bio page: only if you are happy for anyone to call it. A public number gets calls from strangers too.
Say where you are based. A New York area code makes you easy to call; it does not make you a New York creator. The business contact checklist has sample copy.
Which social accounts can use the number for sign-in codes?
The number receives verification codes (OTP SMS) from apps. Each app below sent its code to a TripoSIM US number in TripoSIM's tests. What each platform's help pages say, from our setup guides:

Running a second TikTok account? It needs its own number or an email, because one number fits one TikTok account. Add an authenticator app or backup codes wherever a platform offers them, so a lost phone does not lock you out of an account you earn from.
A sign-in code as it arrives in the app. Real app screen, example number.
What about payout platforms?
If brands or agencies pay you through PayPal, Payoneer or Wise, the sign-in and two-step codes for those accounts can come to the same number.

How do you keep the business line apart from your personal one?
Your personal number does not need to be in a brand's contact list. A separate US number gives business contacts a line you can mute after hours.
One number for brand work: brand calls, agency calls and the accounts you earn from.
A second number for a second channel: for example, a cooking channel and a travel channel, each with its own greeting and its own TikTok login.
Your personal number stays private: friends and family keep using it as before.
The same person can have as many TripoSIM US numbers as they like on one account, each with its own plan, minutes and voicemail greeting.
What should your voicemail say?
A brand manager who reaches voicemail wants to know they have the right person and when to expect a call. For example:
"You have reached [your name] from [your channel]. For brand partnerships, leave your name, your company and a good time to call. I call back within one working day, between 9 a.m. and noon Eastern. You can also email [your address]."
Messages can be up to 2 minutes, up to 30 a month, kept 30 days. The voicemail guide has setup steps.
Are the minutes enough for brand calls?
Calls brands make to you are included up to a fair use of 300 minutes a month. Only calls you place, such as calling an agency back, use your 300 minutes to the US and Canada. Each outgoing call is rounded up to the next full minute; unanswered calls are free. Three typical months, worked out for a year:
300 min included
Between campaignsabout 130 min, within the plan
Campaign weeksabout 260 min, within the plan
Several brands at onceabout 434 min: 17 extra packs, +$85 a year

Incoming calls do not use your minutes (fair use 300 minutes a month). Each plan includes 300 minutes a month out; extra minutes are $5 per 100, and unused extra minutes carry over to the next month, so the year counts the packs for all 12 months together. Prices before tax.
The monthly plan is $12.99 with the same minutes. Try your own numbers in the cost calculator.
What about texts?
The number receives texts from US and Canadian senders, but sending texts is not included. A brand manager can text the number and you will see it, but you cannot answer from it. Write "call or email" in your media kit, not "call or text", and keep quick back-and-forth in email or the brand's own chat tool.
What happens to your accounts if you stop using the number?
If a plan ends, the number is kept 30 days on the yearly plan or 90 days on the monthly plan, then released. A login tied to a released number is hard to get back. Before you let a number go, move every account that uses it to another number or an authenticator app. The number recycling guide explains the risk.
When is another option better?
Brands expect text replies from the number: the TripoSIM number receives texts only. A provider with two-way texting suits you better; see providers compared.
A manager or team answers calls for you: each number is one person's line in an app, for personal and small-business use, and call centers are not allowed. A business phone system built for teams fits better.
You call brands outside the US and Canada: calls out go to US and Canadian numbers only. Anyone can still call your number.
You want a public line for fans: after 300 incoming minutes in a month, callers reach voicemail until the next month. Keep the number for business contacts.
