A US virtual phone number is a real +1 number that is not tied to a SIM card. With TripoSIM it lives in the TripoSIM app on iPhone or Android, so calls and texts reach you over Wi-Fi or mobile data in almost any country.

No. The number works inside the TripoSIM app next to the SIM you already have. It works over Wi-Fi, a travel data eSIM or a local SIM, although some countries restrict internet calling. It is not a carrier SIM or eSIM phone line.

An iPhone or Android phone with the TripoSIM app, an internet connection, a free TripoSIM account and notifications and microphone allowed for the app so calls can ring. Call quality depends on your connection.

It stays yours while your plan is active and renews. If a renewal is not paid, it is kept for the hold period and then released, and a released number may be given to someone else.

Yes. You choose a number by US state or area code from the numbers available right after payment, for example New York 212 or 646, Los Angeles 213 or 310, or Miami 305. Availability changes, so a specific number is never guaranteed.

People in almost any country can buy and use it, except sanctioned countries. Some countries restrict internet calling, so check the rules where you are.

No. You can receive texts from US and Canadian senders, but sending texts is not included. Verification codes from apps arrive as texts in the app.

Add 100 more outgoing minutes for $5 in the app. Included minutes reset every month on the day you bought the number and do not carry over. For incoming calls above the 300-minute fair use, callers go to voicemail until the reset.

No. Outgoing calls go to US and Canadian numbers only. Anyone in any country can still call your US number, at their own carrier's rates.

Yes. Voicemail is included with messages up to 2 minutes each, up to 30 a month, kept for 30 days. You also get missed-call alerts.

Calls need an internet connection to ring. If your phone is off or offline, callers can leave voicemail and you see the missed call when you are back online.

No. The number cannot call 911 or any emergency service. Always use a local mobile line for emergencies.

Yes. The number receives the WhatsApp verification code, so you can register WhatsApp or WhatsApp Business on your US number. TripoSIM tested WhatsApp on October 13, 2026 and WhatsApp Business on October 18, 2026. It is a safe, reliable choice for WhatsApp.

Yes. The number receives verification codes (OTP SMS) from apps, including banking and payment apps. TripoSIM tested 22 apps, including PayPal, Wise and Payoneer; the list shows examples, not a limit.

$100 a year (about $8.33 a month) or $12.99 a month. Both plans include 300 minutes a month of calls to the US and Canada, incoming calls, voicemail and texts from US senders.

If you need the number for 8 months or more, the yearly plan costs less: $100 against $155.88 for 12 monthly payments. For a shorter stay or a trial, monthly is cheaper and keeps your number 90 days after you cancel.

The yearly plan includes $5 you can spend in the TripoSIM app on a travel eSIM, an eSIM top-up or extra US minutes. The monthly plan does not include it.

Turn off renewal in the app anytime. The number works to the end of the period you paid for, then it is paused and kept 30 days on the yearly plan or 90 days on the monthly plan. After that it is released and cannot be recovered.

Payments are not refunded, including unused time or minutes. The exceptions are a full refund if TripoSIM cannot deliver your number within 72 hours, and any refund your local law requires.

TripoSIM requires an identity check for every US number, which it says US rules require. It takes about 2 minutes with a passport or ID card and a selfie, right after payment and before you pick your number. You do not need an SSN or US address.
