TripoSIM requires an identity check for every US number, which it says US rules require. It takes about 2 minutes with a passport or ID card and a selfie, right after payment and before you pick your number. You do not need an SSN or US address.
Add 100 more outgoing minutes for $5 in the app. Included minutes reset every month on the day you bought the number and do not carry over. For incoming calls above the 300-minute fair use, callers go to voicemail until the reset.
If you need the number for 8 months or more, the yearly plan costs less: $100 against $155.88 for 12 monthly payments. For a shorter stay or a trial, monthly is cheaper and keeps your number 90 days after you cancel.
Turn off renewal in the app anytime. The number works to the end of the period you paid for, then it is paused and kept 30 days on the yearly plan or 90 days on the monthly plan. After that it is released and cannot be recovered.
Payments are not refunded, including unused time or minutes. The exceptions are a full refund if TripoSIM cannot deliver your number within 72 hours, and any refund your local law requires.
Yes. You choose a number by US state or area code from the numbers available right after payment, for example New York 212 or 646, Los Angeles 213 or 310, or Miami 305. Availability changes, so a specific number is never guaranteed.
The yearly plan includes $5 you can spend in the TripoSIM app on a travel eSIM, an eSIM top-up or extra US minutes. The monthly plan does not include it.
