When TINE suits you better
- You call little: under about two hours out a month (with an hour of incoming calls), TINE costs less.
- You need to send texts, at 3 cents each, with US and Canadian numbers.
- You are happy to use the number in a web browser; its phone apps are not out yet.
When the TripoSIM US number suits you better
- You call more than about two hours a month: your minutes are included, not charged one by one.
- You want calls to ring on your phone like a normal call, from the app.
- You want your number kept after a plan ends, at least 30 days; TINE releases cancelled numbers at once.
What happens to your number if you stop?
Cancelling TINE stops renewal, and numbers can be reclaimed for non-payment. Cancelled numbers are released at once and cannot be returned, and moving a number to another provider is not supported.
The TripoSIM number stays yours while your plan is paid, with no rule about how often you use it. When a plan ends it is kept for 30 days on the yearly plan and 90 days on the monthly plan, then released. See every provider's rules.
