The TripoSIM US number is built for people outside the US: $100 a year or $12.99 a month, with 300 minutes a month to the US and Canada and texts and codes received in the app.

TextNow can take back a number that is not used; calling or texting once a day keeps it, a warning comes first, and the paid Lock In add-on stops it. A recycled number cannot be returned: you choose a new one. You can move an eligible number to another provider.
The TripoSIM number stays yours while your plan is paid, with no rule about how often you use it. When a plan ends it is kept for 30 days on the yearly plan and 90 days on the monthly plan, then released. See every provider's rules.
