Both sell US numbers to people abroad. Hushed costs less, $6.99 a month or $66.99 a year plus tax, and sends texts on select numbers, but it is not available in 35 countries, including India, Pakistan, Nigeria, Egypt and the Philippines. The TripoSIM US number is $100 a year or $12.99 a month, receives texts and codes, and sells to almost every country.

A Hushed number expires at the end of the plan. You can restore it free within 48 hours, then for a $2 fee, and after 7 days it is gone. Hushed lets you move a number out through support.
The TripoSIM number stays yours while your plan is paid, with no rule about how often you use it. When a plan ends it is kept for 30 days on the yearly plan and 90 days on the monthly plan, then released. See every provider's rules.

Prices in US dollars as published by TripoSIM. Payments are not refunded, except a full refund if your ID check fails or your number is not delivered within 72 hours, or where local law requires. Checkout continues on TripoSIM. Right after payment you complete an ID check with a selfie, then choose from the numbers available.
